Meet Percy

I never intended to carriage Drive again as it takes a cast of thousands to help you or so I thought
Or you could buy a 33" Driving pony and load everything into the same vehicle and have some fun !
Bought in S Wales 5.5.21
People where fairly straight about how they got him and that they had only had him for three weeks and where selling him on [probably because he was terrified of people]
I reached out to stroke him and he nearly fell on the floor
Not been turned out for three weeks probably because unlikely that you will ever catch him again
So I just did not haggle but handed over the money
We put him in the Horsebox and beat a hasty retreat
Turns out only been in the country for three weeks over from N Ireland but would appear to have been born in Cheshire
Not seen an Equine Dentist possibly for ever resulting in Ulcers Hooks very sharp teeth and an unbalanced jaw
Terrified of people and flinches when touched if he let you touch him at all

Worm counted and has a worm burden of a shire Horse

I genuinely thought he might die of a heart attack as he was so fearful the next morning and he was shaking with fear
So training begins with three 10 minute walks a day with minimum of physical contact and lots of chatting [on my part ]

He is on high alert for days and I can only touch the top of his mane and only from the near side I can with care get hold of his headcollar and put a rope on

Then some practice at catching him in the round pen Posting tiny pieces of carrot through his lips is the way to Percys heart
